YOUTH FOR CHANGE 2009

If you plan for a year, plant a seed.
If for ten years, plant a tree.
If for a hundred years, teach the people.

When you sow a seed once, you will reap a single harvest. When you teach the people, you will reap a hundred harvest

The year 2009 show many changes in the activities carried by the YMCA in sri lanka ,youth for change gathering of youth people toward reconciliation and peace working for justice in all the societies, strenthing friendship and solidarity among the youth issues through leader ship talents and peace building .
Foremost as an energizer in this festival, I saw this this camp one of the successful activity that joint on my life, vote of thanks to whom put touch to make this camp success and double of thanks to my friend nada who made me crying from laughing throu these 5 days
Youth 4 change18/22 November 2009 hold a lot of meanings and massages deserve to stop in and think on little bit as a youth & how we can see the world from different way, how we can make change to the better not to the worse, how we can make from every moment of our life a story to share the others in, and how we can speak about peace and no thing to fear from.
Showing what is the peace? throu peace games like music ,drama ,painting and drawing one of our aims to work with peace from different corners sharing peace experiences from several international nationalities is spiritual rich fro all the participants on this camp .
Sharing war experiences and knowing the history of the other is an important issue to go deeply and make small analyses to reach and catch the real idea about the conflict as well as sustainable long lasting peace on the countries.
Sharing leader ship experiences, speech on leadership, role play through leadership and leadership practices also one and big sectors from the YMCAaims on this camp to create and promote  personalities and to depend on your self in addition to contribute as a peace maker to grow your attitudes & behavior in the same way to change .
What is the human rights …the role play throu human rights activates, discussion about the future human rights knowing how the people are not equal and there is discriminations against the minority in the reigns … how we can solve this problems as a youth and definitely we can effect and we always have a point of view, and different with the others not follow the other.
The "Youth for Change camp” is an initiative for and by youth, whose main aim is to inspire and help young people empower themselves. Through our work we want to develop a YMCA global network of conscious-minded and self-reliant youth who are committed to bring about positive change in their community and the world at large.
